I am currently working on my next album, planned for release in spring 2025. The first single is expected at the beginning of the year.In the meantime, I’m releasing something different: Njordlyd Live #01: Den Haag 2024 (Pop Radar) on December 19th. This live recording is ideal for taking a moment to relax and unwind after a busy December, offering some calm before Christmas.
Thanks for listening and following along.

I’ve just uploaded my first-ever live performance as Njordlyd. This 30-minute set brings together six tracks that trace my journey from 2021 up until now. The set opens with an intro based on Circles before transitioning into the end part of the track. From there, it flows through Dark Ride, Correlations Part 2, Correlations Part 4, Adrift, and The Least, representing the releases that have shaped my sound in recent years. The set wraps up with an untitled track, slightly heavier and more intense than my usual work, adding an unexpected contrast and conclusion to the set. Visuals accompany the music, mixing older material with new visuals created specifically for this live set. Sit down, listen, and immerse yourself in the journey. Watch the full performance and let the music and visuals take you through this sonic exploration. #njordlyd #liveperformance #experimentalmusic #ambient This video presents the full EP, Correlations, a dark and atmospheric journey of industrial and ambient soundscapes. For those who appreciate abstract visuals and immersive audio experiences, Correlations offers a blend of surreal imagery and music, where each track is accompanied by a distinct visual theme—spacious, strange, and often dark. Each 30 seconds introduces a new scene that complements the music's evolving mood, with each track featuring its own distinct theme. The visuals range from gritty, abandoned industrial landscapes to retro-futuristic environments where time and space blur. Themes of nature reclaiming factories, surreal bird songs, and shadowy figures emerge as the EP progresses, creating a dynamic and unsettling atmosphere. As part of uploading all my albums and EPs as full-length videos, this release also marks a step toward making space for new material and music coming later this year. Hope you enjoy it. I am to announce that on Sunday the 20th of October 2024, I will be playing live for the first time ever as Njordlyd.
#njordlyd #liveperformance #experimentalmusic #ambient This video features the entirety of the album "The Absence of Noise," designed for those who appreciate music equipment, surreal, and abstract visuals. While the primary focus is the music, the video also offers a visual journey. You can experience the full album in one continuous session—all through the lens of music. I didn't want to use the usual beach views or flower movements. Instead, I aimed for something different. The images are in warm colours and pleasant to look at, yet slightly out of proportion and dimension. You'll see impossible angles, cables appearing from nowhere, and equipment and other elements that defy normal dimensions. This blend of music and art offers a distinctive, abstract, and surreal experience, inviting you to explore a room of fantasy from a musical perspective. Hope you enjoy it. Forward Motion" functions as a transitional moment, capturing the essence of moving forward and embracing what lies ahead. Closing a chapter (album) signifies not only the lessons learned and experiences gained during the album's creation but also the opportunities that may unfold from this journey and learning process. The video features a series of short video clips with bridges, symbolising moving forward and the transition to what lies ahead. Just as a bridge connects two points, this visual metaphor represents the journey of moving forward and the anticipation of what lies beyond. The Least" emphasises the therapeutic power of music, and is closely connected with "Night Time," "Buried," and "Going Back in Time. The visual is a simple and minimal journey through alleyways. The grainy and cartoon-like effect adds a slightly raw texture. Contrast is heightened, illuminating the intricate details of the graffiti-covered walls and weathered surfaces. One Day captures the essence of confronting that inner conflict, where the desire for progress outweighs the reluctance to let go of the past. It is a symbolic journey through the dynamic landscape of creative decision-making. The video explores abstract patterns and city movements. Time-lapse footage brings urban landscapes to life, showcasing dynamic transformations from day to night and everyday city life. The slightly sad atmosphere of 'Night Time' stems from a moment of profound loss and contemplation, emerging as a flicker of introspection and reflection. However, it also echoes the anticipation of new beginnings and the quiet strength found in moving forward. Out of respect, I will not go into any further details here. For this video / visual, I felt that a subtle display featuring only candles would be a fitting choice for this track and its story. |
