"Hello and welcome to my website. I'm Carsten, and Njordlyd is my musical journey.
My sound is deeply ambient and atmospheric, an inspiration that leads me to create something I can't quite put into words. It's an invitation for you to listen and experience, to notice or become aware of something through your senses. A unique sensory journey where 'something' can be almost anything.
I encourage you to take a listen, as my music is best understood through the ears. Explore and discover the 'something' for yourself."

New album: When All Else Falls | 23rd of March, 2026
The album carries the title When All Else Falls, while the individual parts are called When All Else Falls Away. Together, they reflect two perspectives on the same work. The album title suggests a threshold or turning point — a moment where something gives way. The titles of the separate parts point more toward process: something gradual, unfolding, and inevitable, where things dissolve over time. That distinction felt right for this recording, which moves as one slow, hypnotic, continuous session, while each part inhabits a smaller stretch of that same falling away.
When All Else Falls Away is a session recorded live in May 2020. It was captured in a single take and mixed in real time. Nothing was reconstructed afterwards — only mastered. The full session is presented in eight parts, while remaining one continuous piece. |
