One Path Fades And Another Begins: "Further Still" closes The Diffused Thoughts Collection, not as an ending, but as a quiet step into whatever comes next. It marks the point where one path fades and another begins - perhaps in a new shape, tempo, or priority. A soft indication that the journey continues beyond this point, though with the question: how and what? As a visual "Further Still" unfolds through shifting fragments - abstract forms drifting upward, breaking apart, and slowly reforming into something new. The visual blends a single image with evolving square patterns, revealing pieces of it over time until the full shape comes into view. Minimal, introspective, and gently unfolding, it mirrors the idea of moving forward while everything quietly rearranges itself.

I have added a new, temporary section to the website for Spören, my collaboration with accordionist Hans van der Maas.
The page offers a first impression of our live performance work, combining improvised sound, structure, and visuals around the theme of time. You can find the Spören section here. This section is temporary and may change or move later next year as the project develops further. Dream Changer takes place in a strange workroom where dreams are quietly adjusted and redirected. The track drifts between calm and tension — as if you are trying to get away from something, yet finding brief moments of clarity and light along the way. Are you in a hurry? It feels like you are running from something, but maybe that is okay. There are fragments of something good along the way — you just have to stop to notice them. The visual reflects different versions of this strange workroom, scattered across the world. A dim space filled with floating CRT televisions showing fragments of dreams. I chose old CRTs instead of modern screens — dreaming feels timeless, and the analog look fits that idea better. The first live performance with Spören will take place 🗓 November 2, 2025. Spören is a musical collaboration between Njordlyd (Carsten Faarvang – synths & electronics) and WAAS (Hans van der Maas – accordion & electronics).
🗓 November 2, 2025 | 13:00–14:00 📍 Varia Art & Expo, Filmzaal Offers, Loosduinse Hoofdstraat 315With limited seating (25), please reserve by email: About the performance Time. Time does not exist. We are ruled by the clock — go here, be there, an appointment, a meeting, always moving forward. But philosophers say that inner time is the real time. Yet, there is almost no space left for it. Hurry up! Lean back and immerse yourself in the warm tones and deep drones of acoustic accordion, synthesizers, and other sound tools. Supported by visual animations by Njordlyd, Spören brings to life our vision of the phenomenon of Time. The official visual for "From Here to There" is now available on my YouTube channel. From Here to There is about movement and transition — through life, thoughts, emotions, and creative flow. It captures the feeling of being in-between moments, of navigating the space between one state and another, where nothing is fixed and everything shifts gradually. The track feels like a bumpy road journey: there’s always something to notice, obstacles to navigate, and moments that leave an impression. Motion and rhythm carry you forward, and each twist or turn affects your perception as the journey unfolds. It’s a track that moves, drifts, and evolves organically. The visual for this track is fairly minimal, featuring a small selection of transmission masts 📡 shown in my usual abstract and slightly quirky style. 10 years ago, on 2nd September 2015, I released the EP Silent Echoes, my first music ever as Njordlyd 🎶.
What started as two tracks – Towards the Night and Hidden Moments – has since become the foundation of everything I’ve created and continues to shape my creative path to this day. Silent Echoes explored ambient and downtempo soundscapes, weaving textures, rhythmic elements, and layered atmospheres. It was my first step into shaping sound as a form of storytelling, using music to evoke feeling, reflection, and imagination, while sharing my own creative ideas and trail of thoughts. Looking back, it feels surreal to realize that 10 years have passed. Since then, my music has evolved, expanded, and taken me through countless experiments, singles, albums, EPs, and live performances. Later this year, Silent Echoes will return in a remastered edition, including a few unreleased versions from the original recording sessions. #njordlyd #SilentEchoes First live performance with Spören to take place 🗓 November 2, 2025. Spören is a musical collaboration between Njordlyd (Carsten Faarvang) and WAAS (Hans van der Maas).
More information will follow soon. The official visual for "Vision 25" is now available on my YouTube channel. My mind rarely switches off — a restless mind always in motion. It is overflowing with ideas, sounds, images, and thoughts. It might sound amazing, but most of the time it feels like a burden: a constant current that often becomes too much. It happens with everything — music, work, even in conversations — and with the little time I have, I’m often afraid of losing those ideas. I have learned how to park most of them and hold on, but that only adds to the sense of overburden. Vision 25 is another capture of this restless mind in motion. An overload of ideas. It’s not just about the music — it’s an abstract archive of my mind too, all its shapes and surreal structures quietly searching for balance. As I have learned to deal with it, this track gave me what I needed most: a sense of calm, and a clear vision for my upcoming album. The visual reflects this inner landscape: abstract art where industrial shapes, strange architectural forms, and organic textures collide — a compact world where clarity and overload meet. The official visual for "The Diffused Thoughts Collection" is. now available on my YouTube channel. The Diffused Thoughts Collection comes from a mind that never really stops. Thoughts drift in, change direction, disappear, or keep going longer than expected - often with no clear structure, more like a flow. A space where sounds float like fragments, moods emerge without warning, and where even the slowest moments carry as much weight as sound. It is ambient, abstract, and slow-moving. Quietly unfolding. Not designed to build or resolve - but to stay in motion. Not a journey, just the space between moments. The visual unfolds as a comic strip. Multiple panels with surreal scenes. Most remain still, while other panels comes to life with subtle motion that responds to the music. This album comes from a mind that never really stops. Thoughts drift in, change direction, disappear, or keep going longer than expected — often with no clear structure, more like a flow. And this is where these tracks come from.
Each track on the album is just a small part of that wider, fragmented landscape. They’re not aiming to tell a full story or fit neatly together — they’re more like fragments caught in a process. Emerging from the same diffused state, but taking their own form. The sound has a quiet, spacey feel — sometimes slightly sci-fi-inspired, like signals drifting through static. Not loud or dramatic. Not made to stand out — more like something that surfaces when everything else gets quiet and your thoughts come together. This is simply that: a collection. Of sounds, moods, and scattered thoughts — determined and present. |
