"Buried" explores the idea of being overwhelmed by creativity, yet finding solace within it. Despite the weight of creative overload, it offers a sanctuary from the noise of life's distractions and disturbances. Through its musical exploration, "Buried" explores the constant flow of creativity and how it offers solace in the middle of chaos. Primary theme for the video is a "dynamic" visual that explores the continuous stream of ideas. Through rapid cuts, overlays of images, and abstract visuals, witness the struggle to manage creative overload and the wandering nature of the mind.

"Going Back In Time" explores the unique sensation of mentally traveling to a specific moment in the past, inspired by the theme of "Recollections" and "Music Moments in our Lives." Music possesses the extraordinary ability to transport us to significant periods in our lives, serving as an anchor during both happy and challenging phases. The central theme for the video or visuals is an abstract, dreamlike, and surreal atmosphere, enhancing the concept of a mental journey through time. The visuals aim to evoke a sense of time travel, creating an immersive experience that aligns with the track's ethereal aspects. "Recollections" is a captivating exploration of the profound influence of music on our lives. Delve into the concept of accumulating memories and "events connection to music", intricately tied to different phases of existence, all through the lens of music. The primary theme of this video revolves around "Hot Air Balloons." Originally experimenting with moving elements and people, I stumbled upon a few clips featuring hot air balloons and was immediately captivated by their graceful movements. As I worked with the clips, a video began to take shape, complementing the atmosphere in the music. The way the balloons float through the air seems to resonate with the mood of the track, creating a captivating synergy between the visuals and the music. The effects used in the video provide a subtle hint of nostalgia, evoking memories from the past. I am part of a challenge where people in the Facebook group "Watercolor Painting for beginners"can (and are) making a painting based on track 1 "Influx" from my new album "The Absence of Noise".
Check out the Facebook group and the challenge, it's quite cool: www.facebook.com/groups/3697008240423610 The dark urban ambient soundscapes in the track take you on a journey of confronting challenges amidst distressing circumstances. As the first track on the album, "Influx" serves as a portal into a realm of experimental dark ambient soundscapes, providing an escape from reality through its hypnotic and distinct sound that Njordlyd stands for. Primary theme for the video is "Metro Abstracts." This abstract video is created based on close-ups, blurred shots, and creative angles capturing metros and metro trains. The visual complements the extensive use of transport and metro samples in the track. The slightly distorted effect used in the visuals and abstract imagery, mirrors the tension and restlessness conveyed in the music. "The Absence of Noise" is my second album as Njordlyd. The title of the album does not refer to the absence of noises in my music, as noises serve as a fundamental element in my compositions. Instead, it reflects how I use music creation as an escape from the "noises" in life – the constant disturbances, endless responsibilities, and countless issues demanding attention. This album is a departure from these everyday distractions, a chance to be alone, unrestricted and free from constraints. When I create music, I experience a sense of freedom and solitude. It is a temporary mindset that provides me with a sense of control, even though I usually have a clear purpose in mind when creating music. Although I drift away from the "noises," I remain in command, orchestrating the musical journey.
The music on this album takes the listener on a voyage through a somewhat darker and more cosmic landscape compared to my last work. It's entirely sample-based, featuring an array of field recordings, metro sounds, barking dogs, distorted noises, instruments, and reimagined musical fragments. My passion for manipulating samples and reshaping audio content has only grown since the completion of my previous album, "Getting Closer," and the EP, "Correlations." If you listen closely, you will uncover subtle, uncharted layers of samples that transform ordinary soundscapes into something entirely new or different. These nuances are nestled within the spaces between the samples, waiting to be discovered. Today is the release of "With Time", the 2nd single from the upcoming album "The Absence of Noise". It is a 2-track single consisting of "With Time" as the title track and "Nowhere" as a sort of B-Side.
With time I have learned to understand and know myself, how to deal with myself, the way I am and the way I work. With time ……. music has become more than a hobby, more than a passion. It has become a sort of therapy for me. You can read more about the track(s) by clicking here. "With Time" will be the second single from the upcoming album “The absence of noise”.

It has become a sort of therapy for me. This single also contains a second track called "Nowhere", which is merely meant as a “B-side” to “With Time” (then being the A-Side). Stay tuned for more information. “Adrift” is the first single from the upcoming album “The absence of noise”. The title of the album is not about the absence of noises in my music, because noises are almost a foundation in my music. No, it is about how I use making music to escape from all the “noises” in life. When I make music, I am alone and away from all the “noises”, floating and adrift, no ties, no constraints. I am not controlled by anyone, or anything. It is a feeling, or maybe a sort of “ temporary mindset”, because I mostly have a clear purpose when I make music, and I know what I want to do. The video / visual for this track is purposely quite grainy and dark. A sort of contrast to the calm and and balanced mood in the track. “Adrift” is the first single from the upcoming album “The absence of noise”. The title of the album is not about the absence of noises in my music, because noises are almost a foundation in my music. No, it is about how I use making music as an escape from all the “noises” in life. All the disturbances and heaps of things to deal with, attend to, or solve. All the obligations, commitments and constraints that cross my way constantly. I am adrift, away from all the noises, but I am still in control. Of course, now and then I also just use it to clear my mind, to free up my mind, …. but subconsciously I am somehow still in control.
Throughout most of the track, the mood and atmosphere is relaxed, with a sense of nature and moments where it feels like the air is crystal clear. The track builds up a sense of balance, of being in balance or calm, but towards the end, also the feeling that this could change anytime. The threat of a change coming, or something not …… good. Like a storm slowly taking shape. |
